ticket to ride

Some pictures from my whirlwind trip to London. We took the sleeper train down on Monday night and headed to South Kensington for a walk round Kensington Palace Gardens before the V&A opened. I'd planned on going to the quilts exhibition, but we wandered for a bit too long and our sleepiness caught up with us so we bailed in favour of club sandwiches and getting psyched for J-New. On Wednesday we thought about going back for the quilts, but ended up going to the Delaroche exhibition at the National Gallery instead. (More on that later alligators.)

After this post something inside of me unravelled and my google reader has become a neglected wasteland with 1000+ items to read. I suppose I'm feeling a bit jaded and bored. I love the internet and I wouldn't know half of the things I do without it (Katy and Hannah have both blogged about this recently) but I think that blogs can add to the pressure to look constantly flawless (who knows when you might be spotted by a parochial street style blogger?) rather than taking away from it. Some days I don't leave the flat because I can't be bothered getting dressed and making myself look decent but that doesn't make me a bad girl. I'm just lazy and human.

Aaaarggghhh Google Reader does my head in - i go through it once a week which means i usually have 350-400 posts to look at. Then i realise i've already read half of them because they've popped up on Twitter or on a Livejournal feed. Then because my laptop is old and dying it takes ages to scroll through stuff. At the moment I'm really loving some aspects of the internet but have become totally jaded with other aspects that I used to love (ie LJ :(((( Eek)

Lovely pictures. I used to live just around the corner in Bayswater. I miss it sometimes!

Hannah: I tried bloglovin but I have so many blogs added to my google reader than changing it all over seems like an almighty FAFF!

Annabelle: Absolutely, I always have an outfit planned so if something out of the blue pops up I tend to short circuit!

I hear ya. It's like, once you start getting into this shit, you just can't get out. I feel really guilty if I'm not constantly updating and reading others...sometimes, it's just too much
