cabaret

In my Honours year at University I did a class on 30s literature. One of the few good books to come out of it* was Goodbye to Berlin and, from that, Cabaret.
I'd love to learn the dance routine to Mein Heir. Because once you have that skill no one can take it away from you.
*no offence to fans of 30s literature. The class was too heavy on poetry and politics for me, but what did I expect?

SO MUCH AUDEN!!! Graham Greene, Auden, Christopher Isherwood, Auden, AudenAudenAuden. My favourite books were Virginia Woolf's 'Between the Acts' and Jan Struther's 'Mrs Miniver'. After so much Auden and masculinity, I enjoyed seeing the concerns of the decade through female eyes and through the prism of the domestic sphere (both books are centred around houses/families).
Did I mention we read some Auden?
